I really need to get caught up on my tag posts!
The Tagging Stories with Colour Challenge is a bright, shiny, new tag, and one of the cuter tags that I’ve seen make it’s way around the blogosphere, so kudos to Anime as a Cup of Tea for coming up with such a fun, new challenge for us bloggers. I really enjoyed putting this post together, so thank you to Never Argue with a Fish and Anime as a Cup of Tea for tagging me!
The Rules
#1 Share your favourite stories—movies/books/anime/manga/drama/songs—by classifying them on these seven colours’ traits:
- red: passionate, exciting, invigorating
- blue: peaceful, calming
- pink: romantic, caring
- orange: warm, motivating
- black: mysterious, thrilling
- green: fresh, unexpected
- white: random
#2 Send this challenge invitation to at least one of your friends. Let them fear your superiority, as you—decide their fate.
#3 Link back to the original post here! And, enjoy!
Red: Astra Lost in Space

An exciting, sci-fi adventure series, Astra Lost in Space has a little bit of everything. There’s action, mystery, a bit of romance and a heartfelt story about perseverance and found family. It’s a fun ride and the anime adaptation is just as good as the manga, so you can check out either version and have an equally good time.

Blue: Aria

This was an easy pick. I recently finished reading the Aria manga and it’s a beautiful and calming, slice-of-life manga about the joy of living in the moment and appreciating the everyday pleasures of life. Plus, it’s set on a world covered with water, so it seemed like a good pick for the colour blue.

Pink: Heartstopper

I read a lot of romance stories, so choosing a single one to talk about was a bit of a challenge. I finally settled on Heartstopper, a sweet romance/coming-of-age story that follows a pair of adorable teens trying to figure themselves out and sort out their feelings for each other. If you’re a BL manga fan, Heartstopper is definitely a series that you’ll want to try.
Orange: BL Metamorphosis

BL Metamorphosis is a slice-of-life story about an elderly woman who discovers the world of BL manga and strikes up an unlikely friendship with an awkward teenager, who works at her local bookshop and who is happy to recommend new titles for her to try. This is a warm story about friendship, but it’s also about seizing the moment and taking the opportunity to experience things when you have the chance, so I’d say it’s pretty motivating as well.
Black: Something’s Wrong With Us

Mystery? Check! Thrilling twists and turns? Check! A steamy romance full of plenty of angst? Check and check! Something’s Wrong With Us is about a woman who marries into an old-fashioned, upper-class family, in order to investigate a murder that she believes her mother was wrongfully accused of. It has an exciting story and I’m always left eager for the next volume.

Green: Heaven’s Design Team

A story that follows the trials and tribulations of a team of angels who are in charge of designing new animals, is certainly an original concept and I absolutely love this unique and educational series. It’s funny, informative and certainly fresh.

White: Rainbow Brite

Given the theme of this tag, I couldn’t resist throwing this one in here. I was a big fan of the Rainbow Brite cartoon as a kid and I really enjoyed this comic’s updated take on the characters and world. Unfortunately, it looks like this series has been canceled and we won’t be getting any more of it, but I would still recommend checking it out if you’re a fan of the original series, especially if you like magical girl manga!
Well, I had a ton of fun matching up some of my favourite stories to the colour scheme and, hopefully, some of these titles wound up catching your eye.
Until next time!
I haven’t read any of the stories you’ve mentioned (yet!) but it was really interesting to see your choices and reasoning for this tag! Thank you for tagging me, I’ll have my own picks posted soon!

Great choices! Rainbow Brite rings a bell in my head, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen the cartoon. Still I always enjoy Magical Girl series so I’ll have to check that comic out.

I’m not surprised that you wouldn’t have seen it, the cartoon aired in the 80’s and only had a couple of seasons. I don’t think I actually ever watched it on TV, I think I just used to rent it all of the time from Blockbuster. It was a cute but pretty simple show and I think the comic was doing an excellent job of rebooting it.

This is such a cute tag!! I can’t wait to try my hand at it! It’ll probably be later this month or even next month since my schedule is pretty much full at the moment but I will definitely be participating! Thank you so much for the tag! And I really need to check out the stories you chose; I haven’t read any of them and they look interesting! ❤️
